Airport Police
The Melbourne Airport Police Department is a law enforcement agency staffed by sworn police officers and dedicated exclusively to maintaining safety and security at MLB. The Airport PD can be reached on our non-emergency line at 321-288-0147. In the event of an emergency, please dial 9-1-1.
US Customs and Border Protection
CBP at MLB can be contacted at 321-674-5796, from 8:30am until 5:00pm Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Additional information may be found at www.cbp.gov. Arriving international general aviation flights cannot be processed during scheduled international air carrier operations, including one hour prior to the operation and two hours after.
Overflight Permits
For most general aviation, overflight permits are required for travel to MLB from most foreign airports south of the U.S., including those in the Bahamas. Contact the CBP office for more information, including how to obtain a permit. Pilots/Operators must coordinate their estimated arrival time directly with CBP in Melbourne. As a user fee/landing rights port, requests should be initiated with as much lead time as possible to discuss requirements and ensure availability. Weekend arrivals must be coordinated with the Melbourne CBP office before 4pm the Friday prior.
