Police Department

The Melbourne Airport Police Department, led by Director of Public Safety and Police Chief Michael Brewer, has full jurisdiction over the facility and is staffed by full-time, law enforcement officers. He began his career at MLB in 1993 after serving in the U.S. Air Force and working as a security officer at Cape Canaveral Air Station. He holds a Bachelor's degree in professional studies from Barry University and a Master's in public administration from Webster University.


Orlando Melbourne International Airport has a fully-outfitted 40,000 sq.ft. customs facility capable of processing 500 passengers per hour. This Federal Inspection Station managed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
