“Roast and Toast”
Dunkin’ Donuts Opens at Orlando Melbourne International Airport
MELBOURNE, Fla. (March 21, 2018) – With coffees of choice in hand, a crowd of well-wishers toasted the opening of Dunkin’ Donuts near Gate 3 at Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB).
“We’re all now running on Dunkin’,” toasted Airport Executive Director Greg Donovan, A.A.E. at the ribbon-cutting held today at the Florida coastal airport which serves the Central Florida region. The closest commercial airport to Port Canaveral, Kennedy Space Center and 72 miles of sparkling beaches, the airport is keeping pace with the region’s growth with its multi-million dollar terminal transformation, new air traffic control tower and airfield upgrades on its three runways.
Metz Culinary Management operates the Dunkin’ Donuts franchise which includes a café’ sitting area for hungry travelers. According to Rick Sell, a vice president with Metz, a full Dunkin’ Donuts menu is offered, including hot sandwiches, muffins, donuts and breakfast all day. This is the second restaurant Metz has brought to MLB. Lucky’s Craft Food & Drink opened in the terminal last year and has built a strong following of customers for its burgers and chicken sliders.
Melbourne Airport Authority Chairman Jack L. Ryals applauded the nationally respected brand, and noted that passengers from around the world will appreciate the proximity of the restaurant to the gates.
The coffee shop’s opening comes just in time to welcome world travelers and participants in the airport’s fifth international air show this weekend, March 24 & 25. The United States Air Force Thunderbirds will lead the show which also features a rare flyover by the B-2 Stealth Bomber.
