David W. Perley Accepts Position as Director of Capital Improvements at Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB)

MELBOURNE,FL  (February 8, 2016) – Chosen from more than 40 qualified applicants, David W. Perley, AIC, of Cocoa, Florida, is the new director of capital improvements at Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB) and is immediately responsible for $80 Million in ongoing capital projects.

Prior to joining MLB, Perley was in key management positions at A.D. Morgan Corporation, H.J. High and, for the past 5 years, served as senior director of port construction and infrastructure at Port Canaveral.  While working at the Canaveral Port Authority, David led pivotal capital projects including the gleaming new Exploration Tower, the massive channel widening and deepening project, as well as multiple cruise terminal constructions and upgrades.

At Orlando Melbourne International Airport, he will oversee the construction of Embraer’s Legacy 450/500 assembly facilities, renovations and upgrades to the airport’s runways, taxiways, terminal and air traffic control tower, among other major initiatives.

Mr. Perley holds three related degrees from the University of Florida:  a Master of Science in building construction, a Master of Arts in urban and regional planning and a Bachelor of Design in architecture.
